If You’re Wondering About the Higgs Boson–Then You Should Read This

There’s been lots of stuff written this week about the little particle that nobody can really hold or even illustrate metaphorically, but is somehow 5 sigma conspicuous.

The Higgs boson is not the God particle, nor is it what God is made of.

It’s not evidence of the Holy Spirit nor the stuff that makes the power of Christ compel us.

Phillip Clayton has maybe the best writeup on HuffPo about the religious aspects of the discovery (SPOILER: They’re aren’t many).

And in a blast of blog magnanimity, this Fuller blog will post to a Claremont writer and recommend that you read it.

H/T: Tad DeLay on Facebook.

Also, if you want to watch some cool animation explaining this most famous of sub-atomic particles, you can go here to hear a physicist say “bajillion.” (Cue Monica Gellar: “That’s not even a word!”) Start at 2:38 to get the gist of it.

H/T: Craig Detweiler on Patheos.
